Description

The Fertuna Etrusco Nero Vermouth is simply delicious.  This wonderful Vermouth from Maremma in Tuscany has terrific depth and concentration thanks to a 45 day maceration of herbs and spices and further ageing in stainless steel.  The result is a vermouth which is neither too sweet nor too bitter yet concentrated and rich.  This versatile Vermouth can be used in a variety of classic cocktails or drunk lightly chilled on it’s own or with chocolate based desserts and even mild blue cheese.

The colour is a very light amber with slight olive highlights.  On the nose it is very creamy, vanilla custard. The smoke develops gradually, like a slow burning log fire, never overpowering but always reassuring. A guest taster was reminded of marshmallows toasted on a campfire, crisp on the outside and sticky sweet in the middle! The palate is incredibly well balanced, rich and creamy with a slight medicinal hint. The smoke is always present, washing over the palate in waves, like the soft billows of smoke from the kiln.To finish, gentle smoke lingers and lingers leaving you yearning for more!
