The SRS Wilyabrup Cabernet Sauvignon from Flametree is medium to full bodied in structure with a powerful palate and fine grained tannins. The nose is dis-playing berry with dark chocolate undertones. The palate also displays ele-gance and freshness, with a beautiful balance of fruit and oak flavours, the result of 14 months oak maturation.
Flametree Wines is located on the picturesque shores of Geographe Bay in Western Australia, entry point to the renowned Margaret River wine region. This 100% Gamay from Domaine Moulin Camus comes from grapes grown on a slope of pure mica schist which gives the wine juicy, rounded red fruits a bit of tautness and minerality. A warmer than normal, sulphur free maceration for three days helps bring out some warmth and roundness to the fruit, making it slightly beaujolais'esque but without the bubble gum/commercial edge that one would normally find in this price range.
