The Domaine Corty Jurancon Moelleux is a beautiful, enticing medium golden colour.  The expressive nose shows typical aromas of quince, yellow peach and apricots which are intense but by no means over the top.  The fruit characters continue to the rounded palate and are joined by hints of candied ginger spice,  kept fresh by perfectly poised acidity on the long, perfumed finish.  Enjoy this delicious wine with Foie Gras or soft cheeses.

The Sunset White from Vicentino is a delicious crisp, fresh and zesty white from Atlantic coast vineyards in the south of Portugal. The combination of warm summer sun during ripening and the fresh atlantic breezes help produce grapes with a lovely vitality to them.  Clean, crisp and ultra-refreshing, this is a lovely white blend of Alvarinho, Arinto, Fernao Pires, Semillon and Viosinho that is light enough to be enjoyed as an aperitif yet has enough body to go with lighter dishes, especially seafood.

2021 Director’s Reserve White, Tokara, W.O. Stellenbosch

The Tokara Director's Reserve White represents the pinnacle of white wine production at Tokara, one of Stellenbosch's finest estates.  This delicious white is a blend of 68% Sauvignon Blanc and 32% Semillon picked from pristine south/southwest facing granite slopes.  The wine is pressed, with only the free run juice from the best blocks making the final wine.  It is barrel fermented and aged in french oak for 9 months with regular lees stirring before blending and bottling in the November following harvest.

The Clos le Comte is a tiny, organically farmed vineyard that produces wonderfully elegant Sauternes.  The grapes are harvested after several passages through the vineyard ensuring that only the very ripest grapes are selected.  Wonderfully ripe, concentrated and complex fruit aromas. The rich bouquet shows notes of dried fruits, almonds, apricots, fresh citrus and peach blossom. Well structured on the palate with a viscous density resulting from the high levels of botrytis. The Sao Blanc is a well-knit, age worthy blend of 90% Macabeo and 10% Garnatxa Blanca.  Immediately bright and perky in the glass with a wonderfully textured palate courtesy of 6 months in oak.  This terrific wine is open and fresh with great purity of fruit and smoky hints and although showing nicely in it's youth it will continue to evolve for several years and gain in complexity.

The Eight Feet White from Kloovenburg has an elegant nose with a mixture of white flowers, citrus and spice which leads to a generous, richly textured palate and fine, balanced finish.  This wonderful white is a blend of hand picked Chenin, Verdelho, Grenache Blanc and Roussanne harvested at different times to enable the final blend to have a balance of freshness, complexity and vitality.  Made with free run juice the fermentation process is natural, often taking up to 3 months.  The wine spends 10 months on it's fine lees in barrel with regular battonage (to promote texture), before final blending and bottling.  The absence of malolactic fermentation means that the wine retains freshness and acidity despite it's time in barrel.

The Loidana Blanc is a new addition to the fabulous range of Priorat wines from the Marco Abella in Priorat.  This stunning blend of Garnacha Blanca, Picapoll, Viognier and Macabeo is fermented in oak and then lees aged in stainless steel.  This complex white wine shows impeccable balance with exotic fruit notes such as Quince and stone fruits alongside fresher, more mineral characteristics and beautifully poised acidity.  It's not surprising that this wine is so delicious as Marco Abella place a great emphasis on quality, hand-picked fruit frmo their perfectly sited, biodynamic vineyards in and around the famous village of Porrera.

The Bastide Blanche Bandol Blanc is a terrific blend of  Clairette (58%), Ugni Blanc (22%), Bourboulenc (12%) & Rolle (8%) is packed with white peach and fresh herb characters on the nose. The complex palate is multi-layered and textured yet fresh, finishing with a distinct saline tang.  This cracking wine shows a beautiful balance of power and elegance and should be on the 'must try' list of every adventurous drinker.

The Geisha Dragon Del Desierto is an intriguing blend of mostly Viognier with some Marsanne and 10% Pedro Gimenez (Criolla Blanca as opposed to PX) that is co-fermented in a single concrete egg. Following fermentation, 90% of the wine remains 'sur lie' in the egg whilst the remaining 10% ages under flor in old barrels.  The result is a fascinating white wine that is beautifully textured yet fresh, with semi-exotic fruits such as melon and pineapple mingling with a touch of bready/yeasty complexity courtesy of the flor aged proportion.  Generous, textured and ultimately extremely drinkable, this lovely wine is one for the adventurous drinker.
