Description
Moorooduc was established in 1982 by Richard and Jill McIntyre. Moorooduc is a small, family run wine business that has built an enviable reputation for complex and food friendly wines.
The philosophy here is to use top quality fruit that is produced by intensive, hands on work in the vineyard and minimal use of chemicals. The wines are then fermented using wild yeasts and minimal intervention to allow them to express the character of their individual sites. Moorooduc is rightly regarded as one of the leading lights in Mornington and one of the finest Pinot Noir producers in Australia.

2024 Shiraz/Grenache, Hancock & Hancock, McLaren Vale
Red Blend
The Hancock and Hancock Shiraz/Grenache blend is made in a beautifully restrained and supple style. There's plenty of ripe dark plum fruit, pepper and spice courtesy of the Shiraz with the rose petal perfume and red cherry flavours of Grenache. Well balanced through to the finish, this drinks really well now, but will cellar nicely for 5 years or so.

2021 Sangiovese ‘Valley Vignerons Series’, Payten & Jones, Yarra
Sangiovese
The Payten and Jones winery in Yarra Valley has never been one to follow the crowd and they specialise in minimal intervention, natural (in a good way), farming and winemaking, that translates into styles which are fruit forward and downright enjoyable.

2018 Solita Nebbiolo, Chris Ringland, Barossa
Nebbiolo
The Solita Nebbiolo is made from the oldest Nebbiolo vines in South Australia, planted on North East facing slopes. This age-worthy red wine displays the typical characteristics of the grape one would find in Piedmont, yet it wears an Aussie overcoat. Silky and scented with rose petal, sour cherry and floral notes, the palate shows impeccable balance with beautifully integrated alcohol and silky yet drying tannins. Delicious after a decent decant, this terrific example of Nebbiolo from one of the very best Barossa producers will reward careful ageing and the wine should happily evolve for decades to come.
