Description
The Reserve du Couvent from Chateau Ksara is a great value, approachable red from Lebanon’s oldest winery. The Gallic influence extends to both Bordeaux and the Rhone Valley, with 40% Syrah being blended with 30% each of Cabernets Sauvignon and Franc. The result is an approachable, medium to full-bodied red that shows dark cherry and blackberry fruit laced with savoury black pepper spice and a soft lik of vanilla. Charismatic and great value.

The grapes are grown in the 78 hectare vineyard, situated at over 1,000 metres elevation in the beautiful Bekaa Valley, between Mount Lebanon to the west and the Anti-Lebanon Mountains to the east.

2019 Chateau Musar, Bekaa Valley
Red Blend
The 2019 Chateau Musar is a dark and broody wine showing complex blueberry and blackcurrant fruit mingled with black olives and a touch of clove on the nose. These flavours follow through on the palate and are joined by cherries, plums and spice with notes of black pepper. Well-balanced and approachable now, but as with all Musar releases, this will continue to age gracefully for many years to come.

2021 Massaya Red Le Colombier
Cinsault
Massaya is run by brothers Sami and Ramzi Ghosn in partnership with Frédéric and Daniel Brunier from Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe and Dominique Hebrard, formerly from Château Cheval Blanc. Until recently Massaya’s vineyards have solely been located in the fertile Bekaa Valley, at an altitude of 1000 metres above sea level. However, over the last seven years Sami and Ramzi together with Frédéric and Daniel Brunier, have developed Massaya vineyards in the more extreme, mineral areas of the Bekaa valley, moving onto hillside sites to the North East (Ras Baalbek) and North West (Hadath Baalbek), as well as further north of Baalbek.
