Description
The Nostru range from Azienda Agricola Cortese offer terrific value, expressive wines made with grapes more commonly associated with the slopes of Mount Etna. The farming here is traditional and a nod to when organic production was a way of life rather than an informed decision.
This wine has is elegant with a bouquet of peach, apple and citrus fruits as well as hints of blossom. There is excellent acidity and underlying minerality to the relatively big palate.
The vision at at Agricola Cortese is to produce wine in the most traditional and natural way possible so that it reflects the true character of the estate’s terroir and its grape varieties. Experimentation with ancient wine-making techniques such as fermentation in terracotta, alonside utilising modern technology and traditional techniques allows Cortese to extract every nuance of their terroir in their wines.

2021 Puligny Montrachet, Domaine Meunier
Chardonnay
The grapes for this approachable Puligny are hand harvested and undergo a gentle pressing. The juice is then left to settle for a few days then put into French oak barrels, 30% of which are new. Indigenous yeasts are used for fermentation and the wine spends 12 months in barrel before being blended and bottled. Great persistence in the mouth, this wine has a wonderful freshness to it and can be enjoyed in it's youth.

2023 Vouvray Coeur de Silex, Bernard Fouquet, AC Vouvray
Chenin Blanc
Produced from several vineyards with Silex (flint) soils, this delicious Vouvray is pale yellow with a very reserved nose. The palate is dominated by minerals, with citrus, apple and lemon peel fruit. Floral aromas balance out the minerality with some lovely balanced acidity coming through on the finish.
