Description
The Grifi from Avignonesi is a 50/50 blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon from two vineyard sites in Montepulciano. Both varieties marry particularly well in this powerful red with Sangiovese showing up front fruit, spice and elegance whilst the Cabernet gives backbone and tannins. Packed with dark berry fruits with lighter hints of blueberry and plum, the nose also shows plenty of oak and spice, the palate is complex and shows great depth. This is a wonderful wien to enjoy with pelnty of breathing now, but has the capacity to age for at least a decade.
Founded in 1974, Avignonesi is the leading winery in the Montepulciano area of Tuscany, enjoying a sterling reputation amongst wine critics around the world.

2020 Chateau Saransot-Dupre, Listrac Medoc, Magnum
Bordeaux Blend
Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac. Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness. Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'. High praise indeed!
