Description

The long overlooked style and quality of this increasingly fashionable appellation has been recognised with the ‘Grand Cru de Languedoc’status. The Durand and Valentin families are now recognised as one of the leading producers in the region, producing mouthwatering rosé and lush, velvety reds.

A wine with a deep red hue. The nose exudes notes of black cherry and rose on pouring then reveals aromas of black olive, liquorice and spice after swirling. The palate is full and fleshy and delivers flavours of black olives and candied liquorice with a long, fresh finish and elegant tannins.

Syrah 50%, Grenache 40%, Carignan 10%

Clos le Comte Cuvee Emilie.JPG

2022 Clos Le Comte Cuvee Emilie, AC Sauternes

White Blend

The Clos le Comte is a tiny, organically farmed vineyard that produces wonderfully elegant Sauternes.  The grapes are harvested after several passages through the vineyard ensuring that only the very ripest grapes are selected.  Wonderfully ripe, concentrated and complex fruit aromas. The rich bouquet shows notes of dried fruits, almonds, apricots, fresh citrus and peach blossom. Well structured on the palate with a viscous density resulting from the high levels of botrytis. Beautiful acidity gives excellent lively freshness to the spicy notes on the long finish.
