The NV Cuvee de Reserve is extremely approachable and one of our best selling Champagnes. Exuberant, rounded and almost dangerously easy drinking, it’s a widely appealing style that keeps customers coming back for more again and again.
Didier Gallimard owns 10 hectares of prime vineyards on the steep slopes around Les Riceys in the southern Aube. Didier’s son Arnaud has joined him, becoming the seventh generation, and the long-term future is now secure. Their vines’ average age is over 30 years and the dramatically sloping vineyards, which are of chalk and Kimmeridgian limestone, are planted mainly to Pinot Noir and just a little Chardonnay. Their wines are full and rich and offer enticing aromas and flavours of summer fruits.

The Gran Rue from Cantine Povero is a traditional method sparkling wine made from roughly 50/50 Chardonnay and Pinot Noir using only the first pressed must. Two years lees ageing produces a beautifully balanced, biscuity fizz that is soft and creamy with a gentle mousse and delicate notes of pastry and baked bread. Only 6000 bottles are produced annually.
