Description
The Vanedda Bianco from Agricola Cortese is made from an organic blend of Catarratto and Grillo co-fermented on their skins in old 30 litre Slavonian Oak Botti to give structure and phenolics. Fresh, tropical tinged aromas leap from the glass. There’s a beautiful richness on the palate which boasts depth and structure underpinned by clean, crisp acidity.
The vision at at Agricola Cortese is to produce wine in the most traditional and natural way possible so thta it reflects the true character of the estate’s terroir and its grape varieties. Experimentation with ancient wine-making techniques such as fermentation in terracotta, alonside utilising modern technology and traditional techniques allows Cortese to extract every nuance of their terroir in their wines.

Ageing in 500 litre French oak barrels helps add to the wonderful texture without detracting from the impeccably integrated exotic, spicey fruit and lively yet balanced acidity.

Jean-Christophe Bott is heir to the family tradition dating back to 1795, when his ancestor, Jean-Martin Geyl tended his vines and made his wine. Jean-Christophe Bott has been responsible for Domaine Bott-Geyl since 1993 and he converted the vineyards to be organic in 2000 and then biodynamic in 2002. In the vineyards he concentrates on low yields and in the cellars he oversees the vinification in the most natural and minimalist manner to produce wines with precise varietal character.
