Description
Le Pitre Primitivo is one of Mottura’s flagship wines and is very complex, velvety and full-bodied, with an intense nose of sweet jammy red fruits, blackberry and chocolate along with black pepper spice. Well-balanced and powerful, with soft tannins that tends to sweetness. A beautiful Primitivo which is definitely up there as one of the best.
It was 1927 when Pasquale Mottura looked out over the vast stretches of vineyards he had gradually set up over the years and decided to give new life to the fruit of his work by founding one of the most important wineries on the Salento. Mottura has always set itself ambitious quality goals, convinced of the expressive power of native local grape varieties such as Primitivo and Negroamaro and committed to continuing ancient winemaking traditions.

Nerello Mascalese
The Nostru range from Azienda Agricola Cortese offer terrific value, expressive wines made with grapes more commonly associated with the slopes of Mount Etna. The farming here is traditional and a nod to when organic production was a way of life rather than an informed decision.

2020 Chateau Saransot Dupre, Cru Bourgeois Superieurlistrac
Bordeaux Blend
Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac. Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness. Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'. High praise indeed!
