Description
Grown on the northern shores of Lake Geneva this wonderful blend of Gamaret and Garanoir provides something a little different for the curious drinker. Medium-bodied yet with an underlying power, there’s an almost exotic fruit character with blueberry, dark cherry and blackberry too. Quite mellow tannins are mingled with smokey spice on the well balanced finish. This is such a versatile wine and can certainly take a bit of chilling down in the summer months. It’s also great with food and can even handle a fiery curry!

Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac. Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness. Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'. As a result, their wines posess a wonderful depth and concentration.
