Description

The Beyra Reserva Quartz has intense citrus aromas, notes of dried fruits alongside lemongrass and lime scents and an intense minerality. It presents smoky notes, citric acidity, and a very structured body.

The grapes for this wine come from vineyards planted in the plateau area of Beira Interior wine region, at an average altitude of 725 meters, growing on granite soils with quartz veins. The vineyards are all planted of native varieties that are perfectly adapted to environmental and climatic characteristics created by the altitude, chosen one by one depending of the vintage.

Palomino

The Barbadillo Palomino Castillo de San Diego is crisp, fresh and unfortified!  This dry, refreshing white is a great example of the Sherry regions principle grape variety.  The wine is perfect spring/summer quaffing and a great stepping stone to appreciating the more complex, fortified and solera aged versions from DO Jerez.

District 7 Chardonnay.JPG

2021/22 Scheid District 7 Chardonnay, Monterey, California

Chardonnay

Superb value, the Scheid District 7 Chardonnay comes from a vineyard at Greenfeld where the morning fog lingers to protect the vines from the heat of the sun. The aromas are fresh and extroverted with notes of yellow apple, pear and citrus, enhanced by hints of coconut, vanilla and toasty oak. The medium-bodied palate is soft and balanced with bright fruit, hints of butter and a lingering subtle oak finish.

Sercial

On the nose the Manda Chuva frmo Heredade de Portocarro is very mineral-like with saline tinges and white fleshed fruits. The palate is imposing, assertive and has superb minerality.  This complex white wine will continue to develop with a few years in bottle, but whilst young taking a sip is just like taking a dip in the Atlantic!
