2020 Chateau Saransot Dupre, Cru Bourgeois Superieurlistrac

Bordeaux Blend

Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac.  Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness.  Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'.  High praise indeed!

The Quinta do Espinho Colheita is vinified in granite lagares and shows loads of up front black fruits with a smoky, savoury finish.  Terrific value and true to both the region and the traditional grape varieties that it's made with. (Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roiz & Tinta Barroca).

2020/21 Cabernet/Shiraz, Hartenberg, Stellenbosch

Cabernet Sauvignon

The Cabernet/Shiraz from Hartenberg has a lovely vivid purple/red colour, with ripe berry fruits on the nose and hints of forest floor entwined with sweet spice. The palate reveals plenty of vibrant red fruit courtesy of the Cabernet Sauvignon alongside typical black pepper spice from the Shiraz.  There's plenty of juicy, crunchy fruit, soft gentle tannins and a velvety, elegant finish.
