This vintage takes it back to La Rioja of old, with heavy frosts throughout winter, snow and an abundance of rain. Spring was also cold and wet followed by a warm summer but without excessive temperatures. These conditions provided a long, slow ripening period, which enabled the production of great, intense wines.

Straw yellow in colour with slight golden tones. On the nose this is a complex wine with scents of fruit such a pear, apple, white currant and white flowers but also dried fruits and spicy. On the palate there is salinity (manzanilla influence) and an elegant acidity which provides freshness.

2020 Troballa Garnatxa, Mas Blanc i Jove, DO Costers del Segre

The Troballa Negre is a wonderful 100% Garnatxa that is fermented and aged in a mixture Amphora, concrete egg and French oak.  Plum, cherry and strawberry fruit mingle with richer cassis and black berry notes with balsamic hints and wonderful freshness.  The fruit is so pure in this terrific wine which has a silky, rounded finish.  Another belter from Mas Blanc i Jove!

2011 Rioja Reserva Vina Tondonia, Lopez de Heredia, DOCa Rioja

Red Blend

Lopez de Heredia is an ultra traditional winery where little has changed since it's founding in 1877.  The wines are generally kept in the cellar for longer than other producers and also have enormous ageing potential.

Finca Moncloa.JPG

2016 Finca Moncloa Tinto,Gonzalez Byass, Tierra De Cadiz

Cabernet Sauvignon

The Finca Moncloa Tinto is a medium- high intensity with cherry red tones and persistent legs, with intense aromas of ripe red/ black fruits such as blackberry, blueberry and plum. It also carries some floral notes and spice such as black pepper, clove, vanilla and balsamic, whihc intensifies in the glasss. As well as this, you will also fine some fine notes of oak. On the palate it is well balanced with good acidity and a slightly sweet entrance. This is a smooth wine with body and long, round tannins.
