Description

Grapes from the Quinta da Cavadhina usually provide vital freshness and elegance to the declared vintage ports from Warre’s. The lovely 2006 is packed with aromatic dark fruits mingled with mulberry, raisin and prune.  The finish is elegant and long with complex spice notes and a mellow edge.

“Very deep, opaque colour; lovely pure berry-fruit aromas, with a mountain-fruit character, soft and sweet initially, with that lovely purity showing through on the palate and a touch of bitter-chocolate concentration; considerable finesse here (from relatively late-picked fruit), yet quite powerful on the finish, with the character of well-ripened berry fruit running all the way through.  Drink from 2018.”  17/20 Points, Richard Mayson, 2012 World of Fine Wine
