The Les Trois Sources has a dense, inky purple hue with rich, elegant aromas of red- and black-berry fruits, including raspberry, black cherry, cassis, complemented by herbal garrigue, liquorice, and hints of pepper and earth. On the palate it is powerful yet poised, with lush fruit, fine-grained tannins, refreshing acidity, and a long, minerally-saline finish.

The Cotes Du Rhone Rouge 'Cuvee Bonheur' from  Dom. La Loyanne is a typical Rhone blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah and shows complex dark fruits with garrigue notes on the nose along side the odd whiff of violets.  The delicious and more'ish palate is rich and concentrated showing great depth and elegance through to the balanced finish.  Like all the wines from Loyanne, this is such as joy to drink and provides superb value for money.

This relatively young family owned Domaine was created in 2001 by vignerons with 4 generations of vinegrowing and winemaking expertise under their belts.  They own some seriously old vines in superb sites in the Southern Rhone on a mixture of soils of red sand, clay and the classic 'Galet' pebbles associated with Chateauneuf du Pape.  As a result, their wines posess a wonderful depth and concentration.

The 2023 Tierhoek Panther Pardus Pardus is a Rhone style blend made in collaboration with Lukas Van Loggerenberg.  The Tierhook 'In Collaboration With' is an idea that unifies some of  the most sought after grapes in the Cape with some of it's most talented winemakers.  Old Vine Grenache, along with newer plantings of  Syrah and Mouvedre are perfectly knit by Lukas Van Loggerenberg to give a wine that is elegant and fresh with restrained alcohol levels and wonderful purity of fruit.  Named after the Cape Leopard that roams these parts, this limited release wine marks the welcome return of Tierhook to the UK market.  Grab some while you can!

Domaine de la Berthete have made a wonderfully approachable Cotes du Rhone that is packed with the warm, sunny flavours of the pebble strewn vineyards of the Southern Rhone.  50% Grenache and 30% Syrah are blended with a selection of other varieties from vines with an average age of 35 years old.  The result is a tantalising red that shows ripe black fruits, garrigue notes and a waft of spice on the long, satisfying finish.  Not a blockbuster, but packed with flavour, this terrific value red is a great match to roasted red meats.

The Un Bon Canon Cotes du Rhone hits the spot every time with it's fruit forward blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 5% Cinsault and 5% Mouvedre which is fermented in concrete tanks.  The vineyards lie in the southern part of the region on a dried up river bed strewn with heat retaining pebbles.  The hot summer sun ensures that the wine is bold and fruity with raspberry and dark fruits and hints of garrigue/herbal undergrowth.
