Description

The 2023 Tierhoek Panther Pardus Pardus is a Rhone style blend made in collaboration with Lukas Van Loggerenberg.  The Tierhook ‘In Collaboration With’ is an idea that unifies some of  the most sought after grapes in the Cape with some of it’s most talented winemakers.  Old Vine Grenache, along with newer plantings of  Syrah and Mouvedre are perfectly knit by Lukas Van Loggerenberg to give a wine that is elegant and fresh with restrained alcohol levels and wonderful purity of fruit.  Named after the Cape Leopard that roams these parts, this limited release wine marks the welcome return of Tierhook to the UK market.  Grab some while you can!

Moulin Camus Gamay.JPG

2023 Gamay, Domaine Moulin Camus, IGP Loire

Gamay

This 100% Gamay from Domaine Moulin Camus comes from grapes grown on a slope of pure mica schist which gives the wine juicy, rounded red fruits a bit of tautness and minerality.  A warmer than normal, sulphur free maceration for three days helps bring out some warmth and roundness to the fruit, making it slightly beaujolais'esque but without the bubble gum/commercial edge that one would normally find in this price range.

Saransot Dupre Bordeaux Rouge Magnum.JPG

2020 Chateau Saransot-Dupre, Listrac Medoc, Magnum

Bordeaux Blend

Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac.  Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness.  Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'.  High praise indeed!

Un Bon Canon Cotes du Rhone Rouge.JPG

2024 Cotes Du Rhone, Un Bon Canon

Rhone Blend

The Un Bon Canon Cotes du Rhone hits the spot every time with it's fruit forward blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 5% Cinsault and 5% Mouvedre which is fermented in concrete tanks.  The vineyards lie in the southern part of the region on a dried up river bed strewn with heat retaining pebbles.  The hot summer sun ensures that the wine is bold and fruity with raspberry and dark fruits and hints of garrigue/herbal undergrowth.
