Description
This relatively young family owned Domaine was created in 2001 by vignerons with 4 generations of vinegrowing and winemaking expertise under their belts. They own some seriously old vines in superb sites in the Southern Rhone on a mixture of soils of red sand, clay and the classic ‘Galet’ pebbles associated with Chateauneuf du Pape. As a result, their wines posess a wonderful depth and concentration.
60% Grenache and 40% Syrah from 80 year old vines are hand harvested and then fermented in a mixture of stainless steel and old oak barrels, before blending and then ageing for a further 12 months in large demi-muid barrels. This is a terrific wine which manages to expertly balance power, elegance and finesse – the hallmarks of great southern Rhone reds. Stunning value.

Grenache Blend
Newfound Wines, a small family owned winery located in the Sierra Foothills was established in 2016 and is the very essence of 'New California'. Matt and Audra were intent on intent on producing wine in the most sustainable way possible and tore out the existing vineyard that they purchased. Amongst the mesaures they took was to enlist the help of 200 goats to graze the hillsides and to naturally compost the site, as well as creating a fire safe zone by lifting the densely forested canopy and cover cropped with a recipe of legumes, clovers and nitrogen fixing green manures.
