Description
The Project Z wines from Klein Zalze come from exceptional vineyard sites and give the winemakers free reign to experiment. The stunning Sweet Fortified NV doffs it’s cap to the traditional sweet wines of the Cape and is a multi vintage blend of Chenin, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier and Muscat that is fortified with a neutral grape spirit to retain sweetness. This is simply stunning with rich, candied citrus peel and dried apricots alongside caramel and some spice, all balanced by beautiful fresh acidity which prevents the wine from becoming cloying.
Klein Zalze have created a Solera style system whereby each year a small quanttity will be drawn off for bottlling and the barrels will be topped up with young wine to freshen the blend. Utterly delicious, more’ish and extremely limited.

This remarkable wine is wonderfuly textured and manages to comine power and clarity alongside richness and precision. Complex with floral bouquets and notes of citrus and orchard fruit with impeccable acidity, this is a wine to savour.

The delightful Rutherglen Muscat from Stanton & Killeen shows a light amber colour in the glass. The nose is packed with expressive floral notes of crushed rose petal, lavender and orange blossom. The sweet yet balanced palate is rich and silky smooth with raisin characteristics and Turkish delight leading to a long, lingering finish. This is the youngest and freshest tier of the four classifications: Rutherglen, Classic, Grand and Rare and absolute delight.

The Ximenez Spinola Delicado is utterly delicious, showing an enticing deep golden colour, with exceptional aromas from the sun dried grapes and pronounced notes of orange peel and herbs.
