Description
This impeccable Verdicchio is elegant with notes of wild flowers and acacia on the nose, leading to a complex ‘fruitbomb’ citrus, apple and stone fruits along with herbal and nutty undertones lasting through to the long finish.
The Zaccagnini estate is nestled in a natural amphitheatre, the vineyards benefit from a distinctive microclimate, with steady ventilation and shelter from extreme weather. The soil is a blend of clay and sand. Covering 30 hectares, all certified organic, the vineyards encircle the winery — their proximity allowing the grapes to be processed immediately after harvest. Only manual harvesting is practised, ensuring the fruit arrives intact and fresh.
Zaccagnini works exclusively with clones of native grape varieties from its own region, constantly exploring and refining them. Harvesting is carried out entirely by hand. Gentle pressing and low-temperature fermentation take place in glass-lined concrete tanks. Every stage of production, including bottling, is completed in-house at the winery.
