Description

The Ulula Garnacha/Syrah is a cracking organic red wine that represents excellent value for money. Lovely bright fruits mingle with notes of cocoa and whiffs of toasted oak courtesy of 3 months in barrel.  Complex yet approachable, this is a terrific wine to enjoy with a variety of dishes, or simply on it’s own.

Bodegas Esteban Martin is a family-owned business founded in 2003 by Miguel Antonio Esteban and Asunción Martin. From the very start, the winery has always believed in caring for the environment and has pioneered the use of different sustainable practices for growing grapes. Today, Esteban Martin have grown to 400 hectares of vineyards and boast state-of-the-art facilities and technology. However, they have not lost sight of the importance of tradition, know-how and responsibility. The day-to-day operations at the winery now involve three generations of the family, whose main values are quality, excellence and innovation, environmental sustainability and a genuine love for the land.

2020 Chateau Saransot-Dupre, Listrac Medoc, Magnum

Bordeaux Blend

Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac.  Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness.  Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'.  High praise indeed!

Bordeaux Blend

The 2011 vintage had a hard act to follow coming after two exceptional years in Bordeaux and whilst the wines aren't as showy as the '09's and '10's they are charming and drinking beautifully with a decade in bottle.

Moulin Camus Gamay.JPG

2023 Gamay, Domaine Moulin Camus, IGP Loire

Gamay

This 100% Gamay from Domaine Moulin Camus comes from grapes grown on a slope of pure mica schist which gives the wine juicy, rounded red fruits a bit of tautness and minerality.  A warmer than normal, sulphur free maceration for three days helps bring out some warmth and roundness to the fruit, making it slightly beaujolais'esque but without the bubble gum/commercial edge that one would normally find in this price range.
