Description

Fiercely protective of the terroir of the family vineyards Gonzalo rejects market driven fashions, formulae, chemical treatments and conformism. Instead she has sought out her own methods with respect for the land, the vineyards, and the ancestral traditions. She balances this respect with formal training in the latest enological techniques and methods.

This wine has real character – all the juicy elements of Tempranillo, with no dirty oak to mask its charm. It has a natural way about it but with no funkiness. Cherry red, with youthful purplish tinges in the glass with primary notes of fresh fruit, strawberries, raspberries, cherries and violets on the nose with clean mineral tones from the granite.  Sure this cheeky this little natural wine has to be the best value example of it’s type around.

Moulin Camus Gamay.JPG

2023 Gamay, Domaine Moulin Camus, IGP Loire

Gamay

This 100% Gamay from Domaine Moulin Camus comes from grapes grown on a slope of pure mica schist which gives the wine juicy, rounded red fruits a bit of tautness and minerality.  A warmer than normal, sulphur free maceration for three days helps bring out some warmth and roundness to the fruit, making it slightly beaujolais'esque but without the bubble gum/commercial edge that one would normally find in this price range.
