Description

The Avesso & Alvarinho Vinho Verde from Casa Vilacetinho is a wine with great complexity and structure showing great minerality and freshness along with a rounded, slightly weighty character thanks in part the 25 Year old Avesso vines.

Casa de Vilacetinho is located in Alpendurada overlooking the River Douro and covers an estate with 30 hectares of vineyards which develop in a continuous and ordered manner in soils of granitic nature, with a predominantly southerly exposure, making it one of the most prosperous terroirs of the region set to the production of ‘Vinho Verde’.

Viognier

The Mont Rocher Vielle Vignes is a terrific value Viognier. It has a haunting honeysuckle and apricot aroma and rich, almost unctuous palate that also retains freshness.  The finish is crisp, tangy and refreshing.

2021 Puligny Montrachet, Domaine Meunier

Chardonnay

The grapes for this approachable Puligny are hand harvested and undergo a gentle pressing.  The juice is then left to settle for a few days then put into French oak barrels, 30% of which are new. Indigenous yeasts are used for fermentation and the wine spends 12 months in barrel before being blended and bottled.  Great persistence in the mouth, this wine has a wonderful freshness to it and can be enjoyed in it's youth.

2023 Riesling Sekt Trocken, Hanewald-Schwerdt, Pfalz

Riesling

The Hanewald-Schwerdt Riesling Sekt Trocken has a steely lemon tinged nose with red apple and peach underpinned by zesty lime acidity, resulting in a lovely refreshing style.  This is by no means bone dry though, and with 23grams of residual sugar this a fruitier style that is a great alternative to Prosecco for those looking for something a little different.
