Description
The Proposis Red is a blend of Xinomavro and Merlot from the modern and forward thinking Voyatzi Winery in northern Greece. Complex yet approachable with dried red and dark fruits, a nicely rounded palate and balanced, aromatic finish.
The grapes are vinified seperately, blended and then aged in oak for a year. The wine spends a further 6 months in bottle prior to release.
The Voyatzi Estate is nestled in the foothills of the Pieria Mountains near Lake Polyfytos in Velvento, Western Macedonia. In the early 1990s, Yannis, an oenologist trained in Bordeaux, his engineer brother Nico, and their father Harissis established the modern 12-ha vineyard. At 340 metres altitude by the lake, it benefits from a unique microclimate that moderates temperature and humidity, ideal for cultivating local Greek grape varietals. The family have adhered to organic principles from the outset and focuses on producing high-quality wines with distinct character. They primarily grow Assyrtiko, Xinomavro, and Tsapournakos (a Cabernet Franc clone) alongside other local varietals, showcasing the richness of Greek viticulture.

2020 Chateau Saransot-Dupre, Listrac Medoc, Magnum
Bordeaux Blend
Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac. Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness. Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'. High praise indeed!
