2023 Julienas ‘Bois de la Salle’, Cave Julienas-Chaintre

The grapes for this medium weight, fruit led Julienas are hand harvested and left in tank for 10 days to macerate in order to optimise the colour and aroma of the wine. Fermentation takes place at a warm 27/28 degrees centigrade and maturation follows until March when the wine is bottled.An intense, purple colour. Fruity aromas dominated by fragrant raspberry, blackberry and blueberry. Round, supple and rich yet balanced by a lingering freshness on the finish.

The Duc de Belmond Cabernet/Syrah has a lovely deep colour in the glass. The nose shows spice, blackberry and cassis with a whiff of oak, and leads to a palate that is round, smooth and spicy.

The Enira from Domaine Bessa is a big, robust Bulgarian red made in a very opulent Bordeaux style. This wine shows a deep purple colour whilst the nose explodes with vanilla and menthol aromas, followed by blackberry and raspberry strong nuances.
