Description

The 2019 Malbec/Cabernet, Bodegas Staphyle is packed full of dark fruits, spice and backed up by great structure.  This is definitely one to enjoy with roasted meats and is particularly good with almost anything that is cooked over coals on the barbeque.

Part of their ‘Limited Edition’ range, this is another stonking wine from Bodegas Staphyle.

The Beaujolais Villages 'Cuvee Six' from Caves De Julienas Chaintre just gets better and better with each vintage, showing soft, rounded red fruits and vibrant cherry flavours.  Complex enough to make one sit up and think yet easy going and supple at the same time.  Great for lighter lunches and it can also be chilled lightly when the weather warms up!

The aromas are rich and inviting with juicy blackberry, violet, and anise lending layered complexity. The mid-palate is full and plummy with a touch of toasted oak. This structured yet smooth wine finishes with hints of cola and vanilla.

The Payten and Jones winery in Yarra Valley has never been one to follow the crowd and they specialise in minimal intervention, natural (in a good way), farming and winemaking, that translates into styles which are fruit forward and downright enjoyable.
