2020 Chateau Saransot Dupre, Cru Bourgeois Superieurlistrac
Bordeaux Blend
Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac. Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness. Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'. High praise indeed!

The 'Les Charmes' is one of the favoured 'lieu-dits' of Morgon and winemaking is traditional, with hand harvested fruit fermented carefully in the semi-carbonic maceration method with half being whole bunches and half de-stemmed fruit. Maturation is in a mixture of vat and cask and sulphur addition low.

First of all we would like to thank the gentleman in the shop for explaining in detail this particular wine and its origin.
I am new to exploring red wine and we are finding it fascinating, we were recommended this wine as a good starting point and we are not disappointed, accompanied by the information here we were able to identify the wines different qualities on trying.
It is very pleasant and I am sure we will be back for another education on another nice wine.
