Description
The Alma Gemela White Field Blend offers striking aromas of floral and citrus notes layered with hints of white fruit and subtle vanilla. Medium-bodied and texturally complex with a fresh, elegant finish. Truly delicious and a great example of a modern Argentine blend.
Mariana Onofri, Sommelier & Winemaker, and Adán Giangiulio, Viticulturist, are from Lavalle, one of the oldest wine growing regions in the north of Mendoza. In 2014 they started Onofri Wines, a boutique winery project that focuses on sustainable farming and minimal intervention winemaking. Their goal is to produce wines which are the result of micro-vinifications: made in an artisanal way, rescuing old vines, historical regions and grape varieties, as well as innovating with grapes that display a great adaptation in Mendoza.
It is made up of 40% Marsanne, 40% Roussanne and 20% Chardonnay, co-fermented in stainless steel at low temperatures with native yeasts. Partial malolactic fermentation allows the wine to retain a degree of freshness and not become too ‘flabby’. Ageing is for 10 months in French oak barrels, 20% of which are new with the remainder 3rd and 4th use.
