Description

The Magari is a fantastic blend of Cabernet Franc (60%), Cabernet Sauvignon (30%) and Petit Verdot (10%) made with all the care and precision of all the other Gaja wines.  Each variety is fermented seperately and aged in oak for 12 months prior to blending and bottling.  The ’18 vintage is opening up nicely now and will continue to drink beautifully up until the mid-2030’s.

Sleek, polished and refined, this wonderful wine has notes of eucalyptus and pine alongside dark fruits and mediterranean bushes.  The palate is sophisticated with fine grained tannins, black cherry, blackberry and liquourice kept in check with beautifully poised acidity.

2020 Chateau Saransot-Dupre, Listrac Medoc, Magnum

Bordeaux Blend

Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac.  Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness.  Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'.  High praise indeed!
