Founded in 1974, Avignonesi is the leading winery in the Montepulciano area of Tuscany, enjoying a sterling reputation amongst wine critics around the world.

Made from 100% estate grown Sangiovese grapes, the Vino Nobile is a wonderful example of the appellation.  The wine shows garnet red hues, intense aromas of ripe, red berry fruit, such as red plum, pomegranate and sweet spices alongside Mediterranean herbs. On the palate the wine is well balanced, with generous fruit, seamless tannins and an endless finish.

The 2020 Collequieto Falerio Pecorino wine has citrussy and tropical fruit notes, such as clementine, mango and pineapple, but also stone fruit and hints of herbaceous notes such as sage. Balanced with good acidity and a rounded geneours mouthfeel. Flavours of white peach, lemon and pear carry through to the lightly mineral finish.

White Blend

The Bardolino Chiaretto Rosato from Giovanna Tantini is a wonderful example of it's type and widely considered by many (including Decanter Magazine) to be one of the finest in Italy.  Having said that, all of her wines show a wonderful freshness and balance and this delightful blend of Trebbiano, Garganega and Chardonnay continues that theme.  Harvested by hand and vinified seperately at cool temperatures, the final blend spends 6 months on lees in tank and a further 2 months in bottle prior to release. The wine is delicate and faintly aromatic on the nose, balancing green apple and banana hints which lead to a rounded, generous palate that is mouthfulling yet not overly full.  A terrific match to a variety of dishes including Tortellini, fresh pasta and charcuterie.

nv vino rosso campi raudi

‘Campi Raudii’ is one of the ancient latin names for Alto Piemonte, which roughly translates as ‘red fields’ referring to the typical colour of the volcanic soils.  It is fermented and then matured in concrete vats and is intended as a young, approachable expression of Nebbiolo.

Petit Verdot

The Romitorio is a bold super Tuscan that perfectly illustrates that French varietals can thrive in Tuscany and give exceptional quality, whilst retaining an undeniably Tuscan character.  This elegant blend of Syrah and Petit Verdot is well-structured and fruit forward showing morello cherry and plum characters integrated with vanilla and mocha and fine grained tannins.
