The name Querciabella is entirely appropriate to this estate in Chianti, which is surrounded by a sheltering forest of magnificent trees. Sebastiano Castiglioni is at the helm of one of the most innovative wineries in Italy, spearheading vegan and biodynamic practices in his two estates. Helped by the incredibly talented South African winemaker Manfred Ing, Querciabella are releasing not only some of the purest expressions of Chianti Classico but also venturing into Super-Tuscan territory with Camartina and Palafreno.

This 100% Gamay from Domaine Moulin Camus comes from grapes grown on a slope of pure mica schist which gives the wine juicy, rounded red fruits a bit of tautness and minerality. The Bourgogne Pinot Noir Epineuil from Domaine Fournillon is a beautifully fresh Pinot with bright, red fruit flavours and supple tannins. This delightful red wine comes from parcels of vines in the village of Epineuil, with the majority of Pinot Noir grapes are harvested mechanically for efficiency so they can be transported to the estate for maceration in stainless steel tank for a period of 2 weeks, with regular punch downs. After separating the skins from the juice it is aged in stainless steel tanks for a minimum of 15 months.
