Description
The 2016 Rioja Blanco Las Planas from, Real Agrado is a pale golden colour, with the aromas of aniseed tinged oak, balsamic and honey notes. The palate is complex with flavours of peach compote and silky oak notes courtesy of 24 months in a mixture of American and French oak. The velvety palate is soft yet retains plenty of freshness with a fine, elegant and very long finish.
Planted to Viura in 1980, this vineyard is located at the highest altitude on the slopes of Yerga mountain. Thanks to its location the vines are exposed to the constant impact of the north winds, as well as the stark contrasts in temperature between day and night. Both of these key factors contribute to the intense aromas of the grapes.
