NV NUY Red Muscadel, Worcester
Muscat
A long standing favourite of ours, this delicious wine is a bit of a cape classic. Made from late harvested Muscat de Frontignan grapes which are gently crushed then left on their skins for 48 hours before a short fermentation. The wine is then fortified and bottled with the result being a wonderfully fresh, floral stickie that remains on the correct side of cloying. Enjoy this versatile dessert wine with a variety of puddings or as a long drink with masses of ice as the locals would. Terrific value.

2021 Brachetto d’Acqui, Giacomo Bologna, Half Bottle
Brachetto
The history of the Brachetto is steeped in legend and fascination. An antique drink that was mentioned for the first time during the Roman empire when writers described the customs of the ‘Gallia Cisalpina’ (Gaul, on this side of the Alpes), speaking of a sweet aromatic wine of Acqui Terme, very appreciated by the patricians.

2021 Carte d’Or, Baumard, AC Coteaux du Layon, Half Bottle
Chenin Blanc
The Carte d'Or Coteaux du Layon from Baumard has a very attractive honeyed nose, with lifted yellow fruits and more golden tropical elements such as mango, guava and pineapple. It has a particularly tropical character and a very fresh feel on the palate, with steely minerality and a zippy background acidity giving invigorating tartness to keep the wine luscious and buoyant. The rounded, approachable finish has good length.
