Description

A deep, slightly matt color with garnet hues. The bouquet is intense, generous and fine. An intense, generous bouquet of stewed black fruits with tertiary notes such as sandalwood and leather bringing complexity to the olfaction. Fleshy and concentrated on the palate. A full-bodied mid-palate with density and a voluptuous feel. The tannins are ripe and ample. The mid-palate is marked, with a strong concentration and very good length. A nice long finish.

Cabernet Sauvignon 58%
Merlot 40%
Petit Verdot 2%

2020 Chateau Saransot-Dupre, Listrac Medoc, Magnum

Bordeaux Blend

Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac.  Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness.  Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'.  High praise indeed!

Rhone Blend

This relatively young family owned Domaine was created in 2001 by vignerons with 4 generations of vinegrowing and winemaking expertise under their belts.  They own some seriously old vines in superb sites in the Southern Rhone on a mixture of soils of red sand, clay and the classic 'Galet' pebbles associated with Chateauneuf du Pape.  As a result, their wines posess a wonderful depth and concentration.

Carignan

The Les Betes Rousses Rouge is very easy going with hints of spice, plums and red berries on the nose, it is beautfully rounded and balanced, with gentle tannins on the finish.  A cracking mid-week red.
