Description

The 2008 Naude White Blend shows peach, pineapple and lime fruit on the nose which carries through to the full bodied palate with ripe fruit that is beautifully integrated with the oak. The fruit components like peach (Chenin Blanc) and pineapple (Semillon) provide the building blocks of the wine which ends in a refreshing lime/citrus (Sauvignon Blanc) finish.

Naudé attempt to produce wines which display the perfect balance between old world complexity and elegance and new world fruit and structure.  This intriguing white is a blend of Chenin Blanc, Semillon and Sauvignon from 6 different parcels which are all vinified seperately and then blended before bottling

“A sophisticated blend… Far more flavour that one would expect for 11.5% alcohol.” Jancis Robinson, Financial Times

Puligny Montrachet Meunier.JPG

2021 Puligny Montrachet, Domaine Meunier

Chardonnay

The grapes for this approachable Puligny are hand harvested and undergo a gentle pressing.  The juice is then left to settle for a few days then put into French oak barrels, 30% of which are new. Indigenous yeasts are used for fermentation and the wine spends 12 months in barrel before being blended and bottled.  Great persistence in the mouth, this wine has a wonderful freshness to it and can be enjoyed in it's youth.

Coteaux du Layon Carte dOr.JPG

2022/23 Carte d’Or, Baumard, AC Coteaux du Layon, Half Bottle

Chenin Blanc

The Carte d'Or Coteaux du Layon from Baumard has a very attractive honeyed nose, with lifted yellow fruits and more golden tropical elements such as mango, guava and pineapple. It has a particularly tropical character and a very fresh feel on the palate, with steely minerality and a zippy background acidity giving invigorating tartness to keep the wine luscious and buoyant. The rounded, approachable finish has good length.
