Description
To celebrate some new arrivals from South America and highlight some old favourites we’ve put together this fabulous and eclectic selection of wines from Chile, Argentina and Uruguay. Save over £10 on the following:
Block Series Semillon, Bouchon, Maule Valley, Chile – Characteristic citrus peel underpinned by disintct minerality from granite soils and held together with thirst quenching acidity, this terrific Semillon is starting to sho wwell now but will have plenty of years ageing ahead of it.
Jackot, Piedra Negra, Arroyo Seco, Argentina – Delicate yet complex with an elegant texture, this lovely wine is made from the Italian grape Friulano. Herb tinged lime and citrus fruit with a whiff of oak.
Verum Chardonnay, Bodega del Rio Elorza, Argentina – This Patagonian white is cool fermented and only has touch of oak to it, which supports rather than dominates the elegant stone fruit and apple character.
Chinchero Criolla, Bodegas Vinecol, Argentina – Pale in colour and fermented in stainless steel to retain freshness, this delightfully soft red has a vibrant palate that belies it’s relatively high (for Agrentina) ABV.
Notos Nebbiolo/Tannat, Vinedos de los Vientos, Uruguay – Cherry red with enticing floral notes of rose petal and spice, this is medium bodied with cherry and red fruits and a touch of spice to the tannins.
El Camino Cabernet/Carmenere, Vina Dagaz, Chile – Tons of red and black fruits, dark cherry and spice, this is rich and rounded with soft tannins on the finish.
