Description

This blend of 80% Tinta Negra and 20% Verdelho is aged in cask for 5 years naturally, without the addition of caramel and is designed to mimic the ‘Rainwater Style’ of Madeira. The origins of this style are ambiguous, (depending on who you speak to), but it is thought to derive from when the barrels were left outside and the wine inside took on a particular characteristic having been lashed by the Atlantic rains.  What we can be certain of is that this is a stunning style medium dry Madeira that has complex flavours of almonds, caramel, nuts and candied fruits.  The finish is long and balanced with terrific acidity.
