Description

The Midgie release by Ardnamurchan brings together 13 Bourbon barrels, 1 Sherry Butt, 5 Sauternes barriques and 5 Madeira barriques, and is a combination of 60% peated and 40% unpeated spirit.

On the nose, The Midgie is complex yet inviting showing brandy snaps, crystallised ginger, nougat and smokey Manuka honey along with sweeter notes of love heart candy and satsuma peel, freshly squeezed orange juice and a whiff of smokeyness that is reminiscent of extinguished candle. The cooling palate is soft with fresh mint, bread and butter pudding and cooked peaches with notes of salted almonds and cookie dough.  The finish of this first class whisky is sweet, smoky and lingering with gentle warmth from bottling at 48%.
