Description
The Kloovenburg Sauvignon was an instant hit here at The Dorset Wine Company. We loved the freshness that lept from the glass but as the wine developed it also shows a great deal of elegance. There’s a restrained mix of citrus, gooseberry and tropical fruits and whilst it’s a very expressive wine it’s never overly pungent. The finish is crisp and elegant.
The grapes are handpicked early in the morning to retain freshness and are cold soaked for 48 hours on arrival at the winery. Fermentation is long and cool in stainless steel and once finished, the wine is given a low dose of Sulphur before resting on it’s fine lees for 4 months prior to blending and bottling.

This is by no means bone dry though, and with 23grams of residual sugar this a fruitier style that is a great alternative to Prosecco for those looking for something a little different.
