Description

The Formigo is a deliciously refreshing blend of Treixadura, Godello and Palomino from Ribeiro in Galicia. The wine has an impeccable balance of ripe citrus fruits, a slight grassy freshness and beautifully poised acidity.  This is a wonderful aperitif but is also custom built to match all manner of shellfish dishes.

Manuel Formigo set himself up as a Colleiteiro in 2006 and is therefore formally recognised as a small grower.  Colleiteiros are limited to producing 60,000 litres of wine which must all be from their own vineyards.  Manuel owns 6 hectares of vines spread over 7 plots in the inland region of Ribeiro and is passionate about growing indigenous varities to Galicia.
