Weingut Heid are a certified organic, 12 hectare farm in Fellbach, Wurttemberg, which is widely considered as Germany’s leading region for red wine. The Melchior is an enticing blend of Lemberger, Cabernet Sauvignon and Portugieser that is delicate with crunchy red fruits, hints of parma violets and an elegant, dry finish. Delightfully different and a great wine to drop into a blind tasting.

2023 Julienas ‘Bois de la Salle’, Cave Julienas-Chaintre

The grapes for this medium weight, fruit led Julienas are hand harvested and left in tank for 10 days to macerate in order to optimise the colour and aroma of the wine. Fermentation takes place at a warm 27/28 degrees centigrade and maturation follows until March when the wine is bottled.An intense, purple colour. Fruity aromas dominated by fragrant raspberry, blackberry and blueberry. Round, supple and rich yet balanced by a lingering freshness on the finish.
