Description

This is a wonderful Beaumes de Venise made from Muscats a Petit Grains Blanc and Noir and has a wonderful rose tinted copper hue to it.  Expressive with typical Muscat florality on the nose along with notes of butterscotch, orang and spices.  The palate is rich, velvety and full bodied but in no way cloying with stone fruits and nicely poised acidity on the finish.

Muscat

The crushed grapes are left in contact with their skins for two days with the occasional pumping over and wild fermentation was allowed to start.  The must was then fortified with 96% spirit to stop fermetation whilst the wine still had 250 grams of residual sugar.  Heady, rich and concentrated with spice, stone fruits and amazingly long finish.  Enjoy this fabulous wine with toffee or fruit based desserts, or stick some away for it to develop further.

The Cuvee de Reserve is extremely approachable and one of our best selling Champagnes.  Exuberant, rounded and almost dangerously easy drinking, it's a widely appealing style that keeps customers coming back for more again and again.

Didier Gallimard owns 10 hectares of prime vineyards on the steep slopes around Les Riceys in the southern Aube. Didier’s son Arnaud has joined him, becoming the seventh generation, and the long-term future is now secure. Their vines’ average age is over 30 years and the dramatically sloping vineyards, which are of chalk and Kimmeridgian limestone, are planted mainly to Pinot Noir and just a little Chardonnay. Their wines are full and rich and offer enticing aromas and flavours of summer fruits.

NV Rutherglen Muscat, Stanton & Killeen

Muscat

The delightful Rutherglen Muscat from Stanton & Killeen shows a light amber colour in the glass.  The nose is packed with expressive floral notes of crushed rose petal, lavender and orange blossom.  The sweet yet balanced palate is rich and silky smooth with raisin characteristics and Turkish delight leading to a long, lingering finish.  This is the youngest and freshest tier of the four classifications: Rutherglen, Classic, Grand and Rare and absolute delight.
