Description

The Langham Dry White is a still blend of 82% Chardonnay and 18% Madeleine Angevine that has been fermented using natural yeasts in mainly stainless steel with a little bit of oak, and aged for 9 months before final blending and bottling.  Very pale in the glass with an intense nose of zesty grapefruit, passion fruit and fresh lemon.  Crisp Granny Smith apple fruit comes through on the palate with citrus tinged acidity and a thrist queching lick of salinity.  Light, crisp and very refreshing.

Chenin Blanc

The Zevenwacht Tin Mine White is a stunning blend of Chenin, Chardonnay, Roussanne, Viognier and Semillon, coming from vineyards planted on decomposed granite soils which lie between 200 and 350m above sea level.  Ageing in 500 litre French oak barrels helps add to the wonderful texture without detracting from the impeccably integrated exotic, spicey fruit and lively yet balanced acidity.

District 7 Chardonnay.JPG

2021 Scheid District 7 Chardonnay, Monterey, California

Chardonnay

Superb value, the Scheid District 7 Chardonnay comes from a vineyard at Greenfeld where the morning fog lingers to protect the vines from the heat of the sun. The aromas are fresh and extroverted with notes of yellow apple, pear and citrus, enhanced by hints of coconut, vanilla and toasty oak. The medium-bodied palate is soft and balanced with bright fruit, hints of butter and a lingering subtle oak finish.

2019 Bordeaux Blanc Sec, Chateau Saransot-Dupre

Semillon/Sauvignon

Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac.  Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness.  Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'.  High praise indeed!

Palomino

The Barbadillo Palomino Castillo de San Diego is crisp, fresh and unfortified!  This dry, refreshing white is a great example of the Sherry regions principle grape variety.  The wine is perfect spring/summer quaffing and a great stepping stone to appreciating the more complex, fortified and solera aged versions from DO Jerez.
