Description

The Defesa Tinto is an inviting blend of Touriga Nacional and Syrah coming from young’ish vines planted on Granite and Schist soils.  The wine is open and immediately enjoyable with a mass of spice-tinged, black fruit aromas which follow on to a rounded, fruit filled palate that is rich and creamy.  The well balanced finish is softly textured, supple and long.

Esporão originated in Alentejo from a desire to make the finest wines at nature’s pace, with minimal impact on the environment. Throughout the years they have learned that organic farming contributes to this – protecting soils, increasing the resilience and quality of the vineyards, allowing them to obtain healthier and more balanced grapes that require less intervention in the winery and produce wines with greater identity, sense of place and without products that are harmful to our health and the environment.

Dark berry and spicy notes entice the nose, while ripe plum, blackberry and a touch of blueberry flavors entertain the taste buds. Juicy and structured, this is well balanced and has a long, velvety finish.

Rhone Blend

The Un Bon Canon Cotes du Rhone hits the spot every time with it's fruit forward blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 5% Cinsault and 5% Mouvedre which is fermented in concrete tanks.  The vineyards lie in the southern part of the region on a dried up river bed strewn with heat retaining pebbles.  The hot summer sun ensures that the wine is bold and fruity with raspberry and dark fruits and hints of garrigue/herbal undergrowth.

2018 Brunello di Montalcino Pieve Santa Restituta, Gaja, DOCG

Sangiovese

Gaja's Brunello di Montalcino shows notes of juniper berries, liquorice and sweet wood on the nose. It has a very clear expression of sweet and ripe fruit, opening on the palate, with notes of spice and earthy aromatic herbs. This wine has remarkable texture, mouth-filling fruit and a very good length.
