Description
The Church House Chenin Blanc from Matawhero has a pale straw colour with golden highlights and the expressive nose shows blossom, orange zest and a gentle floral character. Chenin Blanc hallmarks abound on the palate with stone fruit, lime and honeysuckle alongside perfecty poised acidity.
Kirsten and Richard bought the Matawhero winery from it’s founder and pioneer winemaker Denis Irwin in 2008. The estate is 100% dry farmed and the focus here is on sustainability and quality of fruit, with the aim of producing wines that are concentrated and expressive of both the variety and region.
This wonderful Chenin is from the Church House collection, single vineyard wines from unique parcels that are grown in the region.
