Description

The Castello di Meleto Chianti Classico Riserva is wonderfully approachable with an inviting nose of ripe red fruits intermingled with aromatic herbs and sweet spices.  The palate is rounded, medium to full bodied with soft tannins and a long, complex and elegant finish.

Grapes are harvested by hand after vigorous selection in the vineyard. Stems are removed and grapes are soft pressed. The must obtained undergoes spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in 53 Hl wooden casks. Once the fermentation is complete, the wine remains in contact with the skins for 20-25 days before it is introduced into cement vats for malolactic fermentation. The wine ages 20 months in 54 hl Slavonian oak barrels and concrete vats.

95% Sangiovese & 5% Merlot

The Paraduxx red blend is rich, luxurious and complex, opening with alluring aromas of ripe cherry, red currant, cranberry and blueberry, along with sophisticated notes of sandalwood, clove, anise and black tea. On the palate, smooth, silky tannins underscore the lush black cherry and currant flavours, with hints of chocolate, spice and cracked pepper adding depth and nuance to the long, flowing finish.

Tempranillo

The Finca Resalso from Emilio Moro is deep cherry red in colour with a violet rim. It is honest, intense and very expressive on the nose. The primary aromas of Tempranillo, such as blackberry and blackcurrant, stand out. It is well-structured in the mouth with mellow tannins and well-balanced acidity.

2016 Les Charmes de Kirwan, Chateau Kirwan, AC Margaux

Bordeaux Blend

Les Charmes de Kirwan is the second wine of 3rd Growth Château Margaux and, like it's more grown up sybling, has benefitted from the massive investment program in both the winery and the vineyard in recent years.  It is generally made with the younger vines on the property but receives exactly the same care and attention as the wine.

2020 ‘O Font’ Les Deux Cols, Vin de France

Grenache Blend

Les Deux Cols is a joint venture between Ireland's leading Rhone importer, Simon Tyrell and Charles Derain, one time Sommelier to Alain Ducasse at Le Louis XV in Paris.  This Grenache Noir dominated blend is whole bunch and foot trodden, natural yeast fermented in concrete tanks and then matured in a mixture of old barriques and larger demi-muid barrels.  Pale in the glass, this is fresh and easy with red fruits and a hint of spice.  Hand harvesting takes place at least a week earlier than the neighbouring properties allowing for a fresher style, and all vineyards are either organic or in conversion with some biodynamic practices in use.
