The Calusari Pinot Noir has to be one of the best value Pinots around. Gorgeous dark fruit flavours, almost syrupy in its concentration. Dark, rich and potent, with layers of black cherry, raspberry and cinnamon. Deep, with pretty fruit cake and spicy aromatics. A lovely long finish.
The Cramele Recas Estate, owned by Englishman, Philip Cox and his Romanian wife Elvira, have put in a huge amount of work into transforming their slice of grape growing history into a contemporary winemaking haven.
The immaculate vineyards are a combination of evolved plantings from 1447 and much more recent plantings too. The Bourgogne Pinot Noir Epineuil from Domaine Fournillon is a beautifully fresh Pinot with bright, red fruit flavours and supple tannins. This delightful red wine comes from parcels of vines in the village of Epineuil, with the majority of Pinot Noir grapes are harvested mechanically for efficiency so they can be transported to the estate for maceration in stainless steel tank for a period of 2 weeks, with regular punch downs. After separating the skins from the juice it is aged in stainless steel tanks for a minimum of 15 months.

The grapes for this medium weight, fruit led Julienas are hand harvested and left in tank for 10 days to macerate in order to optimise the colour and aroma of the wine. Fermentation takes place at a warm 27/28 degrees centigrade and maturation follows until March when the wine is bottled.An intense, purple colour. Fruity aromas dominated by fragrant raspberry, blackberry and blueberry. Round, supple and rich yet balanced by a lingering freshness on the finish.
