Description

The Bourgogne Aligote Vielle Vignes from Domaine Remi Jeanniard has terrific freshness with crisp green apple and citrus fruits along with a faintly floral tinge.

Domaine Remi Jeanniard is a family owned estate created in 2004 and covers just under 6 hectares over the communes of Morey ySt. Denis, Gevrey Chambertin and Chambolle Musigny.  The vines are tended with the utmost respect for the environment and vine health is promoted wherever possible, resulting in distinctive, fresh wines which reflect variety and terroir.

This is a wonderful Aligote made from hand harvested fruit which is fermented in stainless steel and then aged in old oak (4 + years) for 10 months before undergoing only a light filtration prior to bottling.

2022 Vouvray Cuvee Silex, Domaine des Aubuisieres, AC Vouvray

Chenin Blanc

Produced from several vineyards with Silex (flint) soils, this delicious Vouvray is pale yellow with a very reserved nose. The palate is dominated by minerals, with citrus, apple and lemon peel fruit. Floral aromas balance out the minerality with some lovely balanced acidity coming through on the finish.

Palomino

The Barbadillo Palomino Castillo de San Diego is crisp, fresh and unfortified!  This dry, refreshing white is a great example of the Sherry regions principle grape variety.  The wine is perfect spring/summer quaffing and a great stepping stone to appreciating the more complex, fortified and solera aged versions from DO Jerez.

Sercial

On the nose the Manda Chuva frmo Heredade de Portocarro is very mineral-like with saline tinges and white fleshed fruits. The palate is imposing, assertive and has superb minerality.  This complex white wine will continue to develop with a few years in bottle, but whilst young taking a sip is just like taking a dip in the Atlantic!
