Description

The Rosso di Montepulciano from Avignonesi is certified organic, 100% Sangiovese and downright delicious.  Medium bodied with open, red berry fruits, hints of spice and a wonderful floral edge to the expressive nose.  The palate is smooth and harmonius with a lovely balance of sweet fruits and fresh acidity.  Generous and open now, this wonderful wine will continue to develop for a good few years from vintage.

Founded in 1974, Avignonesi is the leading winery in the Montepulciano area of Tuscany, enjoying a sterling reputation amongst wine critics around the world.

Bordeaux Blend

Chateau Saransot-Dupre is a favourably sited 17 hectares property that lies between Fourcas Dupré and Fourcas Hosten in Listrac.  Due to Listrac’s cooler temperatures, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are favoured over Cabernet Sauvignon to form the majority of the blend, helping them achieve optimum ripeness.  Much like Chateau Fourcas Hosten, the wines have improved year on year since 2010 and the property were put on the radar thanks to a certain Robert Parker hailing the 2010 vintage as 'classed growth quality'.  High praise indeed!
